Page 16 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • June 16, 2010 �������������������������� Dear Readers: As I write this letter and consider the fact that school is almost out for summer, I can only think of the hot days ahead, the pool, the beach, and all of the running around that the summer months typically bring. Whether you have a shore house, lake house, or simply like to lay low at the local pool, the summer months are filled with usually filled with fun. In Wyckoff, there are always many activities going on, and hopefully you and your family will take advantage of some of them. I hope you have already taken advantage of our first Wyckoff Day, which was held June 12 at the YMCA. This wonderful, new event was developed to foster pride in Wyckoff while offering a family friendly atmosphere for all. With games, booths, vendors, activities, hay rides, and concerts, this will be a premier event for Wyckoff on an annual basis going forward. The Chamber is one of the sponsors of this event, and we hope that you patronize the other sponsors and our membership, so we can continue to bring great events like this to town. A special thanks to Stop and Shop in Boulder Run and Foodtown of North Haledon for their tremendous support of the Chamber for this event, and to all of the volunteers who helped that day with our booths. On a more personal note, many of you have been my loyal customers for the last eight years, and may have noticed some changes at my store in Boulder Run. I have decided to make a career change, and sold my AT&T store lease to a Verizon retailer called “Phones for U.” They have already joined the Chamber! Please welcome them to town. They are good people with a solid reputation in the business, and if you need Verizon Wireless, they are the best. For my AT&T customers, please see Rob and Billy at the Smart Phone Center in Ramsey for any issues with that carrier. I will continue as president of the Wyckoff Chamber of Commerce through the end of the year, when my term ends. Thank you for your support over the years. It has been wonderful to serve this community. As always, please support your Chamber members by shopping locally. You will see a much better level of customer service, convenience, and great prices without having to fight the highway or mall traffic. You’ll be happy you did.
