Joseph J. D’Angelo Sr. of Wyckoff died July 14. He was 86. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Before retiring in 1993, he was a self-employed machine designer with JO DE Machine, Inc. of Hawthorne for 30 years. He was a parishioner of Saint Elizabeth’s R.C. Church in Wyckoff. He is survived by his wife Emelia “Mim,” his children Maria C. Timmes of Ramsey, and Joseph J., Jr. of Riverdale, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and his sister Mary Arena of Florida. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Tina Fieldhouse, nee DeNoble, of Midland Park, formerly of Prospect Park, died July 14. She was 90. Along with her husband, she was the owner and operator of Larry’s Grocery in Prospect Park. Later she worked as a salesperson at Jacob’s Department Store in Paterson until her retirement. She was a member of the Unity Christian Reformed Church of Prospect Park. She is survived by her children Richard Fieldhouse of Piscataway, Marinus Fieldhouse of New Port Richey, Florida, Lawrence Fieldhouse Jr. of Andover, and Robert Fieldhouse of Vernon, seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Lawrence Fieldhouse, and her brother Arthur DeNoble. Arrangements were made by Browning Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Memorial donations may be made to the CHCC, 301 Sicomac Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ 07481. Fred “Bud” R. Kern of Wallingford, Connecticut, formerly of Franklin Lakes, and Easton, Maryland, died July 14. He was 84. He was a U.S. Merchant Marine and Naval Reserve veteran of WWII. Before retiring, he was an entrepreneur and the owner of Fred R. Kern Associates and Macopin Associates in Paterson. He managed several indoor racquet clubs, including the Franklin Lakes Racquet Club. He was a former parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church in Franklin Lakes, and Saints Peter and Paul Church in Wallingford, Connecticut. He was a member of the Franklin Lakes Planning Board for 19 years. He was a member of the National Indoor Tennis Association, serving as president from 1976-1977. He is survived by his wife Rita B. Kern (nee Sweeney), his children Stephen F. Kern, Donna M. Finn, Christine M. Kern, and David T. Kern, and nine grandchildren. He owned and operated James Parker and Son Inc. in Midland Park for the past 52 years. He was a member of the Bergen Irish Association, and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a parishioner of the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park since it was established. He is survived by his wife Mary, his children James J. Parker III, and Richard F. Parker, both of Mahwah, and Lisa Parker of Allendale, and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents James Parker and Mary. Arrangements were made by Vander Plaat Funeral Home in Wyckoff. Lillian Ruth Sarisky, nee Lov, of Wyckoff, formerly of Clifton and Florida, died July 10. She was 78. She had been a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Clifton. She is survived by her children Scott Sarisky of Duluth, Georgia; Laura Kiesewetter of Upper Montclair, and Valerie Sherwood of Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania, five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and her siblings Robert Peterson of Mankato, Minnesota, and Muriel Schwab of Toms River. She was predeceased by her husband Andrew Grant Sarisky. Arrangements were made by Bizub Quinlan Funeral Home in Clifton. He is survived by his wife Julianne van Nouhuys, his daughters, Karen van Nouhuys of Manhattan and Ann Mambrino of Rye, New York, two grandchildren, and his sister Rozetta Maria van Stolk of the Netherlands. William Verhulst of Midland Park died July 9. He was 90. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Before retiring, he was a typesetter for the Bergen Record in Hackensack for 24 years. He was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park, a member of the Bergen County Senior Center in Midland Park, and the VFW Post 7086 in Midland Park. He is survived by his daughters Chris Faulkner of Rockaway, and Casey Burfeind of Midland Park, and four grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Clazine Verhulst. Teens invited to learn origami The Wyckoff Public Library will offer an origami class for Wyckoff residents, ages 12 through 16, on Thursday, July 22 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Linda Bogen will be show teens how to create fascinating structures with paper. Annual Cub Scout Carnival set Cub Scout Pack 309 of Wyckoff will host its annual Cub Scout Carnival at Grace United Methodist Church, 555 Russell Avenue, on Saturday July 24 from 10 a.m. to 3p.m. There will be a dunk tank, sno-cone machine, and games. Pack 309 Cub Scouts and their families are invited, as are boys and their families who are interested in Pack 309, which serves the Sicomac and Coolidge school areas.
