Vacation Bible School set Vacation Bible School at Abundant Life Reformed Church, 475 Lafayette Avenue, is planned for July 26 through 30 from 9 to 11:30 a.m. “Parables in the Park” is open to children four years old through fifth grade. Help for Haiti
Employees at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff recently held a Hands for Haiti Baby Shower to collect baby items to help the relief effort in Haiti. Nancy Kley of Glen Rock, formerly of Fair Lawn and Midland Park, died July 1. She was 78. She had taught first grade in Ho-Ho-Kus for 35 years. She was a member of All Saints’ Episcopal Church in Glen Rock, where she served on its vestry and as president of the Saint Anne’s Guild and on the Finance Committee. She was a member of the Brownstone Quilters Guild. Arrangements were made by Browning Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne. Barbara Lou Passaro, nee Brown, of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, formerly of Wyckoff, died June 29. She was 74. Along with her husband, she was the owner of the Wyckoff Pharmacy for over 45 years. She was a member of the Wyckoff Reformed Church, the Wyckoff Woman’s Club, and the Garden Club in Long Beach Island. She was an alumna of Zeta Kappa Phi. She is survived by her husband Richard P. Passaro, her children William A., Laura M. Jensen, Paul C. and John K. Passaro, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her sister Marie Lyle. She was predeceased by her brother Arthur Brown. Concetta “Connie” Polisse of Midland Park, formerly of Fair Lawn and Boca Raton, Florida, died July 3. She was 98. She had been secretary for Bishop Fulton J. Sheehan during his visits to Mount Carmel Guild in Paterson. She had been an office manager for the family’s business, Mars Electric in Passaic. She helped establish the library at Bergen Catholic High School and served as secretary to the principal. She was a volunteer for Hospice by the Sea in Florida. She was a parishioner of Church of the Nativity in Midland Park. She was one of the last surviving widows of a World War I veteran. She is survived by her children Grace Byrne of Barnegat Light, Betty Sullivan of Midland Park, and Peter Polisse of Engadine, Michigan, 13 grandchildren, 35 great grandchildren, and one great, great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by her husband Peter, her granddaughter Marysue Sullivan Gates, her siblings Rocco and Russell Caporaso, George Bruno, and Grace Daloisio.
