Antique show planned at Hermitage The Hermitage at 355 North Franklin Turnpike, Ho-HoKus, will be the setting for an Antique Show on Saturday, July 24, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., rain or shine. Sponsored by Friends of the Hermitage and promoted by P.J.’s Promotions, the show will feature dealers set up on the tree shaded front lawn. Furniture, estate and costume jewelry, silver, yellow ware, art pottery, vintage buttons, linens and textiles will be offered for sale along with antiquarian books and scientific instruments, country store items, fine china, Depression glass, primitives, lighting, Hummels, toys, crocks, woodenware, and more.

Lions plan benefit Golf Outing The Saddle River Valley Lions Club’s annual Golf Outing will be held Monday, Sept. 13 at the Falkirk Estate and Country Club in Central Valley, New York. This event has been renamed the Herb Bodensiek Golf Classic to honor the club’s longest serving member (over 40 years). The cost of $95 includes golf, cart, all-you-can-eat barbecue on the deck, prizes, and a donation to the Lions Club campaign to fight blindness. A “shotgun” start will begin at 9:30 a.m. and barbecue and awards will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Prizes will be awarded in various categories. There will also be a contest with prizes and an auction.
The Saddle River Valley Lions Club primarily serves the communities of Mahwah, Ramsey, Saddle River and Upper Saddle River. Members of the club come from 13 different communities. Chancel Choir to perform The Chancel Choir of the Westminster Presbyterian Church of West Chester, Pennsylvania will perform at the Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church on Sunday, July 18 at 3 p.m. This free concert sponsored by the Christian Health Care Center will feature selected patriotic and sacred musical numbers. Participating congregations include Faith Community Christian Reformed Church, Midland Park Christian Reformed Church, and Cedar Hill Christian Reformed Church. The Chancel Choir is the backbone of the music ministry at Westminster Presbyterian Church and has more than 100 members representing the larger congregation of more than 2,000. The choir performed throughout Germany and was one of the featured choirs in the Salzburg Choral Festival in Austria in 2007. The group’s repertoire includes many major works, including Mozart’s “Coronation Mass,” Faure’s “Requiem,” Mendelssohn’s “Elijah,” and Vivaldi’s “Gloria.” For more information, call David Krentel, foundation executive director, at (201) 848-5799. Fyke sets Butterfly/Plant Walk Fyke Nature Association will host its traditional July Celery Farm Butterfly/Plant Walk on Saturday, July 17.
