Recycling
(continued from page 7) Midland Park residents will experience seamless service, since Waste Management has been providing curbside pickup for several years. She added that the borough has a good working relationship with the company. In order to avail itself of the most favorable bids, the borough recently split its contracts for the collection of garbage and recyclable materials, with Waste Management winning the deal for recyclables and Ippolito receiving the contract for garbage. When the borough requested bids for the collection of recyclable materials, containered collection for the school district was included as an option. After reviewing the proposal, the board of education chose to pay for a $3,120 contract with Waste Management that will run from July 1, 2010 through June 30, 2011. The school board’s contract will allow the borough’s public schools to deposit their recyclable materials into a Dumpster, which will be emptied by the collector.
