Colonial Balladeers Ridley and Anne Enslow recently presented a Colonial Christmas Concert at the c. 1798 Ramapo Reformed Church in Mahwah, in honor of the 225th anniversary of the founding of the church in 1785. The event was co-hosted by the Mahwah Museum Society. The Enslows, dressed in costumes of the 1770s, sang and played a 1776 fiddle and a hammered dulcimer (a 100-string wood

instrument struck with small wood hammers), transporting listeners to the early days of our republic. Their selection of music and thoroughly researched comments provide a fascinating lesson in both music and history. The couple has performed to wide acclaim throughout New Jersey at historical houses, churches, national parks, reenactments, fairs, festivals, and corporate events.
