Wyckoff Wanderings Viennese New Year’s Gala set The 10 Annual Viennese New Year’s Gala will be held Jan. 1 from 3 to 7 p.m. at The Brownstone in Paterson. Manfred Knoop, director of music at the Church of Saint Elizabeth in Wyckoff, will conduct the concert, which includes works by Johann Strauss and performances by professional guest musicians. The event will also feature a champagne toast to the New Year, a sumptuous buffet dinner with wine, a Viennese table, and dancing. The cost is $95 per person. th Great Holiday Gift Drawing Date extended to Feb 27, 2011 at 6 pm To benefit the restoration of the Waldwick Train Station Caregiver support group to meet Christian Health Care Adult Day Services at Christian Health Care Center in Wyckoff will hold a Caregiver Support Group from noon to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 14 at the center, 301 Sicomac Avenue in Wyckoff. Follow signs for Christian Health Care Adult Day Services. The meeting is open to the public and no reservations are necessary. Facilitated by Kerri Sherer, LSW, the meeting will provide support to people caring for a loved one suffering from dementia and other medical problems related to the aging process. In addition, information about area social services will be available, and attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and share knowledge with others facing similar issues. Last leaf pickup scheduled The Wyckoff Department of Public Works is in the final round of its township-wide leaf collection. Residents who have not raked their leaves to the curb before the last pass in their district may save their leaves for next spring’s curbside leaf collection or bring the leaves to the conservation/ recycling center on West Main Street. The conservation center is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Residents may deposit leaves, branches, and brush. Leaf mulch is also available during these hours. Integrated preschool program offered The Wyckoff Public Schools will offer an integrated preschool program for typically developing three- and four-year-olds. The program will be staffed by New Jersey certified early childhood teachers and teachers for students with disabilities. Each class will have an instructional aide and will follow an approved curriculum by the New Jersey Department of Education. The program, which takes place a Sicomac School, follows the Wyckoff school district calendar. Classes will meet for a half-day schedule at 8:50 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. or 12:30 to 3:10 p.m. The cost of the program is $3,150 for the 2011-12 school year.
