The well-attended celebration was held in the Ho-Ho-Kus Ambulance Corps training room. The guest of honor personally greeted dozens of well-wishers, who were urged to sign in. Those in attendance included Mayor Thomas Randall, Councilmen John Mongelli and Gordon Hamm, Borough Administrator Don Cirulli, Borough Clerk Laura Borchers and former clerk Judy Odo, multiple members of the police department, and Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney. Long-time friends, including Mike Limatola, and Kallenberg’s wife Laura and their son Adam were also in attendance. Many people commented on Kallenberg’s professionalism, knowledge, skill, and respectful manner. However, he was “roasted” later in the evening. Laura Kallenberg said her husband’s retirement hit home last week when he cleaned out his office at headquarters.
