Midland Park April 28, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • Page 7 Residents and businesses who suffered damages or other losses during last month’s nor’easter are being urged to file claims at the recently-opened disaster recovery center in Paramus to try to recover some of their losses. “Go down and file a claim, even if you received some insurance; perhaps you will get something to make up for a deductible,” said Jeff Allyn, Midland Park’s Emergency Visit center to check on emergency aid eligibility Management Coordinator. “A lost furnace, basement furniture, trees on fences or houses, even out of pocket expenses may qualify,” he added. Allyn said that damage in the borough was not as extensive as it was in neighboring towns, with the fire department having to pump out only four homes. He said those residents were told they needed to install sump pumps to avoid similar occurrences. The town suffered minor losses as well and would be filing for damage recovery.
