April 28, 2010 THE VILLADOM TIMES I • Page 23 Park Windmill Borough to auction equipment The Borough of Midland Park will hold its 2010 auction on Wednesday, May 5 at 2 p.m. The preview of merchandize to be auctioned will take place from 1 to 2 p.m. On the block this year will be police cars, a dump truck, a BMW motorcycle, and office equipment. The auction will take place at the Department of Public Works garage on 20 Greenwood Avenue. All bidders welcome. Blood Drive planned The Midland Park Community Blood drive will be held at Kuiken Brothers, 145 Lake Avenue, on Wednesday, May 5 from 2 to 5 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call (201) 251-3703. All types of blood are needed especially types O- and O+. Any healthy individual age 17 through 75 and weighing at least 110 pounds can donate blood. Donors should eat a moderate meal before donating and must bring identification showing signature. All donors receive a complimentary cholesterol screening with every blood donation. Volunteers sought for Clothing Exchange The Borough of Midland Park’s first Clothing Exchange will be held Saturday, June 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Midland Park Fire House on Witte Drive. Adult and high school student volunteers will be needed in shifts to attend tables, assist with inventory, and help with event break- down. Board of education to meet The Midland Park Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, April 27 at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held in the August C. DePreker Media Center at Highland School. Jackals tickets on sale The Midland Park U10 Travel Baseball team recently announced its June 5 fundraiser, which will be held at Yogi Berra Stadium in Upper Montclair. The New Jersey Jackals will play the Brockton Rox. Tickets are $28 for adults and $18 for children. Included with admission to the game will be fireworks and an all-you-can-eat picnic. Community Night is this Friday Midland Park Community Night will be held Friday, April 30 at Veterans’ Hall on Faner Road at 8 p.m. For over 30 years, the annual event has presented awards for the borough’s Citizen of the Year, Top Cop, Top Educator, Top Fireman, Top Ambulance Corps member, and Top Veteran. The public is invited to attend to honor these dedicated volunteers. Refreshments will be served. Admission is free. Lions Club breakfast has new location The Midland Park Lions Club will host its Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, May 2 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Midland Park Firehouse on Witte Drive. Attendees will enjoy a full breakfast and will have an opportunity for win prize baskets. Learn about health care reform On May 12, Sheila Brogan, eldercare coordinator, will present a brief overview of the “Health Care Reform” measure that was recently signed into law. Children’s clothing swap set The Midland Park Christian Reformed Church at 183 Godwin Avenue has scheduled a children’s clothing swap for May 7 and 8. Donations of gently used children’s clothing may be dropped off on May 7 from 3 to 7 p.m. Donors will receive a voucher to come back on Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon to stock up for free.
