Republicans plan meeting The Wyckoff Republican League will meet April 28 at 7 p.m. at the Larkin House, 380 Godwin Avenue. Anyone interested is invited to attend. The group will discuss 2010 events. The league’s mission is to foster Republican ideals and present to the community those candidates from the Republican Party running for elected office in Wyckoff, Bergen County, and the State of New Jersey. The group meets the fourth Wednesday of the month. Visit on the web at www.wyckoffrepublicans.com or e-mail wyckoffrepleague@aol.com. Knitters sought for soldiers’ project For the fourth year, Grace United Methodist Church in Wyckoff is teaming up with the local VFW and American Legion posts to send 300 boxes to soldiers in Iraq and Afghanistan. In addition to the 30+ products to be included in each box, those who can knit are asked to knit helmet liners. The helmet liner pattern is available at www. gumc.org, and may be acquired by sending a self-addressed stamped envelope to Soldier Box Project, Grace United Methodist Church, 555 Russell Avenue, Wyckoff, NJ
07481. Helmet liners for this year’s shipment are needed by May 20. Any liners collected after that date will be held for future shipments. Monetary donations to pay for yarn may be sent to the church. Participants are asked not to send donations of yarn; military requirements are very specific regarding the type of yarn that must be used. Franklin Lakes primary
(continued from page 9) Yudin, who supported DeNicola in her bid for nomination to run for a freeholder seat in the primary. Under that agreement, Yudin allegedly agreed to give the BCRO line on the ballot to the Bivona slate if the Republican Club’s county committee representatives supported DeNicola for freeholder at the BCRO nominating convention last month. DeNicola won that nomination, and Yudin expressed satisfaction last week that there will be no challenge in the Franklin Lakes Republican primary election this year. “I’ve worked very strenuously to bring both sides together and to have unity in Franklin Lakes like I’ve done in the county,” Yudin said. “I hope this will be a precursor to an ongoing unified Republican party in Franklin Lakes.” No Democratic candidates filed nominating petitions. Independent candidates have up to the day of the primary to announce their candidacy.
