First responders join borough’s rescue squad
Ramsey Mayor Christopher Botta recently appointed three new first responders to the Ramsey Rescue Squad and the Ramsey Office of Emergency Management. Kyle Sharry, a senior at Ramsey High School, was sworn-in to the Ramsey Rescue Squad. Ramsey High School junior Vincent Mazzella and William Paterson University senior Thomas Carroll were appointed to the Ramsey Office of Emergency Management.

Ramsey Police Department Report
On Sept. 6 at 3:05 a.m., Patrolman Craig Weber observed an erratic driver on Franklin Turnpike. A motor vehicle stop was initiated, and the officer immediately detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage from the driver. At the conclusion of field sobriety tests, an 18-year-old Mahwah man was arrested for driving while intoxicated. At 2:10 a.m. on Sept. 7, Patrolman Jeff Guilfoyle conducted a motor vehicle stop for a vehicle speeding on Main Street. There was an immediate detection of an odor of an alcoholic beverage from the driver. At the conclusion of field sobriety tests, a 22-year-old Ramsey man was arrested (continued on page 6)
