Page 4 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • September 16, 2009 Mahwah Blanketing the community Bianca D’Agostaro and Megan Marino (above) from Girl Scout Troop 923 display the results of their Silver Award Project. After meeting with Anne Woodcock (at right with the girls), of Blythedale Children’s Hospital, the girls decided to make blankets specifically for the teenage population of Blythedale. They raised money by asking family and friends for donations. Through an enormous outpouring of generosity from the community, they were able to purchase enough fabric to make 50 blankets. They spent many hours this summer making the blankets to donate to the hospital. Additionally, they reached out to publishing houses as the hospital has a need for washable books for their youngest patients and received many donations directly from the publishers. The girls wish to publicly thank everyone that helped them achieve their goal.
