Royle Scholarship applicants sought
Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club Awards Chairman John F. Royle has announced that application forms for the annual John Royle Rotary Awards are now available at the guidance offices of Ramsey, Mahwah, and Northern Highlands high schools, or by calling Royle at (201) 529-4919. Applications may also be obtained at the Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club website, www.bergenhighlandsrotary.org. Named for Royle’s father, who was a Rotarian for over 35 years, the awards are based on need, ability, and contributions to school and community. These awards consist of $1,250 at the beginning of the recipient’s freshman year and another $1,250 at the beginning of his or her sophomore year. The awards are offered annually to graduating seniors who are going on to higher education and who reside in the area served by the Bergen Highlands/Ramsey Rotary Club: Allendale, Mahwah, Ramsey, Saddle River, and Upper Saddle River. The awards are offered to all seniors regardless of other scholarships applied for or granted. Applications must be completed in full and delivered to Royle as soon as possible. Club celebrates Rotary’s 100th year
Members of the Bergen Highlands-Ramsey Rotary Club gathered to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Rotary International at an event hosted by TD Bank. Rotary members focus on public service, and BH-R Rotary’s efforts range from local blood drives and support for local food banks to helping rebuild New Orleans and work on international polio eradication programs. The BH-R Rotary Club includes members from Mahwah, Ramsey, Allendale, Saddle River, and Upper Saddle River.
