A talented cast of students from Don Bosco Prep, Immaculate Heart Academy, Academy of Holy Angels and Mary Help of Christians Academy will perform in Don Bosco Prep’s production of “Les Miserables” on March 27, 28, and 29, April 3 and 4, in DeSales Hall Auditorium at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey. “We have such a gifted group of upperclassmen this year, we wanted to choose a musical that would be very special,” Don Bosco Prep Director/President Rev. Louis Molinelli said. “That’s why we decided to produce ‘Les Mis.’” Over 60 students will perform in this production along with 60 crew members, who will provide technical support.
‘Les Miserables’ to grace stage at Don Bosco Prep
“Les Miserables” is the story of the 1832 student uprisings and describes the desperate circumstances of the underside of Paris. The plot is a plea for the humane treatment of the poor and the redemption of character through love. “Les Miserables” was written in 1980 by French composer Claude-Michel Schonberg and Alain Boublil and has been called the most famous of all French musicals. It is based upon the 1862 novel “Les Miserables” by Victor Hugo. Since it opened in London in 1985 and on Broadway in 1987, “Les Misrables” has been performed throughout the world and won many major awards, including eight Tony awards, including Best Musical.
