‘Indiana Jones’ showing at the library The Sunday Family Matinee at the Mahwah Public Library for March 29 will be “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.” This film is rated PG13 and is 122 minutes long. There will be popcorn, snacks, and beverages. This program is free and tickets are not necessary. The library is located at 100 Ridge Road in Mahwah. Mahwah seniors plan events The Mahwah Senior Activity Center is hosting a “Crazy Hat Day Luncheon” on April 16 at noon. The three most creative hat winners will be awarded a free luncheon to the June luncheon. On Friday, May 15 the group will take the Gold Coast Mansion Trip on Long Island. Transportation will be by deluxe motor coach that will leave from the Mahwah Senior Center at 8 a.m. The tour also includes a guided tour of Sagamore Hill and Eagle’s Nest. A three-course luncheon will be served at Mill Pond House. The cost for this tour is $61. This trip is open to Mahwah residents only. The Senior Center is offering movie day on April 2 at noon in the all-purpose room. The feature presentation will be “Nights in Rodanthe” with Richard Gere and Diane Lane. Ukrainian Egg Decorating offered at library The Mahwah Public Library will offer a Ukrainian Egg Decorating Workshop with Patty Wiszuk-DeAngelo on Saturday, April 4 at 12:30 to 4 p.m. In this hands-on craft works taught by professional award-winning artist, learn the art of Ukrainian egg decorating and make a hand-dyed egg to take home. Participants must purchase a $25 supply kit and pre-register. The cost of the program

Networking event planned The Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce will hold a business card exchange on Thursday, March 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Tuxedo Park School, about 20 minutes north of Mahwah. Enjoy light refreshments while learning about the school’s programs and network with members of the Tuxedo business community. The school is located on Mountain Farm Road in Tuxedo Park, New York. The cost is $15 for Chamber members and $30 for non-members. Prepaid registration is required; an additional $5 processing fee will be charged if paid the day of event. Apple Ridge Association plans meeting The Apple Ridge Association is hold a meeting on Wednesday, March 25 at 8 p.m. The meeting will be held in the clubhouse located at 400 Apple Ridge Boulevard in Mahwah. Home design program offered The Mahwah Public Library will present “Interior Color Basics and Redesign: Just like on HGTV” with Bernadette Flaim and Susan Corbo of Attention2Detail on Monday, March 30 at 7 p.m. Flaim and Corbo will demonstrate how a room can be redesigned with pieces already owned and some color. This program is free. The Mahwah Public Library is located at 100 Ridge Road in Mahwah. Meet the bunny Mahwah’s Annual Meet the Bunny Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 28 at 1 p.m. The festival will be held at Continental Soldiers Park and will include prizes, face painting, and egg dying. This program will run rain or shine.
Davies novel to be discussed The Mahwah Library’s Morning and Evening Book Discussion Groups will discuss Robertson Davies’ “Fifth Business” in March. The Evening group will meet Wednesday, March 25 at 7 p.m. Mahwah residency is not required. Call the library at (201) 529-READ or visit the library at 100 Ridge Road. Sisterhood hosts special auction Temple Beth Haverim Shir Shalom Sisterhood, 280 Ramapo Valley Road in Mahwah, will hold a special auction on Sunday, March 29 from 1 to 5 p.m. There is no entrance fee and refreshments will be served. This event will display beautifully gift wrapped baskets of donated merchandise and gift certificates. Some of the baskets have themes, such as jewelry, electronics, foods, chocolates, toys, and baby items. Prizes will include gift certificates for some of the finest area gourmet restaurants and theaters. Sugar, a Pomeranian from Mahwah (being carried by runway model Onique Sco�), recently participated in Pet Fashion Week, which was held the Metropolitan Pavilion and Altman building in New York city. The show featured couture clothing, toys, treats, and bedding for pets. The dress Sugar modeled won the Fashion Institute of Technology Swarovski Crystal design contest. The show raised $40,000 for animal charities. Sugar is owned by Heidi Wise, president of Coddled Creatures, an inhome pet care company.
