Page 6 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • March 4, 2009 On Feb. 12, a 19-year-old Roebling man was arrested at Ramapo College for harassment after officers were called to investigate the domestic dispute. The female victim was interviewed and several harassing messages were retained by the officers. The man was charged and served with the harassment complaint by officers from another jurisdiction. The man was given a court appearance date. The same day, a 33-year-old Waldwick man was arrested on Franklin Turnpike for driving while intoxicated after the officer stopped the man for speeding. The officer conducted field tests and determined the man was intoxicated. He was arrested for DWI and later released to his father with a pending court appearance required in Mahwah. A 30-year-old Suffern, New York man was arrested Feb. 13 on Ramapo Valley Road for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after the officer stopped the man for driving with a suspended vehicle registration. The officer interviewed the man and smelled marijuana Township of Mahwah Police Department Report inside the vehicle. A search of the vehicle resulted in the drugs and paraphernalia. The man was charged and released with a future court appearance required in Mahwah. On Feb. 14, a 41-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman from Elsmere, Delaware were arrested on Route 287 North for possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of marijuana after the officer stopped the man for talking on a cellular telephone while driving. The officer smelled the marijuana while interviewing them, and later located the drugs and paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle. They were charged and released with future court appearance dates. The same day, a 24-year-old Mahwah man was arrested on Route 17 South for driving while intoxicated after the officer observed the man strike the vehicle ahead of him on the highway. The officer stopped to investigate the accident and had the man conduct field sobriety tests. The man was subsequently arrested for DWI. He was held in lockup overnight and then transported to the hospital in the morning at his request. He will have to appear in Mahwah Municipal Court at a later date. Also on Feb. 14, a 24-year-old Mahwah man was arrested on Stone Wall Court for driving while intoxicated after the officer was called to investigate a motor vehicle accident. On Feb. 17, a 22-year-old Paramus man and a 20-yearold Basking Ridge man were arrested for providing alcohol to a person underage and possession of alcohol by an underage person, respectively, during a Cops-in-Shops detail on Franklin Turnpike. The officers observed the men purchase the alcohol and then arrested them. They were released with future court appearance dates in Mahwah. Also on Feb. 17, a 19-year-old Glen Rock man was arrested at Ramapo College for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after the officers were called to investigate by College Security. The officers interviewed the man in his dorm room, observed the drugs and paraphernalia and arrested him. He was released with a pending court appearance required in Mahwah. On Feb. 18, a 54-year-old Mahwah man was arrested on Ridge Road for assault after the officer was called to investigate a domestic dispute. The victim told the officer that her husband assaulted her and she showed signs of injury. The man was located and arrested. He will have to appear in municipal court.
