Register for football & cheerleading The Ramsey Junior Football Association will hold its 2009 season registration for all levels of football, cheerleading, and flag programs at Finch Park on Friday, March 27 from 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Registration forms and additional information is available at www.ramseyfootball.com Garden Club hosts speaker The Ramsey Area Garden Club will meet on Tuesday, March 10 at 6:45 p.m. Michael Ruggiero, horticulturist and all-around plant and garden expert at Matterhorn Nursery in Spring Valley, New York, will speak on new and interesting annuals with a tropical touch. Ruggiero spent 40 years a senior curator in the horticultural department at the New York Botanical Gardens. He continues to serve as an instructor for the School of Horticulture at the Botanical Gardens. The public is invited to attend the portion of the meeting that features the guest speaker. Club schedules spa fundraiser The Junior Woman’s Club of Ramsey has partnered with Simply Face and Body Spa for a March 4 fundraiser to benefit Foster and Adoptive Family Services. Simply Face and Body, located at 39 Interstate Shopping Center in Ramsey, will offer a special rate of $49 for a facial or massage combined with a lip or eyebrow wax. Everyone will receive an exclusive gift. For an appointment, call 877-57SIMPLY. The club will be accepting donations to the FAFS at this one-day event. Donations can also be made directly to the club at any time. FAFS is a non-profit corporation founded in 1972. It is the leading statewide advocacy agency for foster and adoptive parents. FAFS plays an integral part in the development, training, and support of New Jersey’s foster and adoptive parents. The group’s mission is to meet the special needs of foster and adoptive families and to advocate for
The Junior Woman’s Club of Ramsey’s District Fifth Grade Spelling Bee was held recently at Dater School in Ramsey. Twenty-three local students participated. The three winners will now participate in the New Jersey State Spelling Bee.
