The Ramsey Police Department has announced the arrests of two burglary suspects who were charged in two separate, apparently unrelated incidents. On June 9, police arrested a 46-yearold Lyndhurst woman for burglary, theft of moveable property, receiving stolen property, and falsely incriminating another individual. On May 11, the Ramey Police Department investigated a theft of jewelry from a home on Swan Hollow Court. During the investigation, it was determined that two health care aides had been in the home during the time the theft occurred. The defendant alleged that the other health care aide showed up at the house unannounced. The defendant, who worked for Accredited Health Services in Hackensack, told police she thought it was strange that this person showed up when she was scheduled. The second health care aide was interviewed and it was determined she was not at the Swan Hollow address when the

defendant stated. Attention was then turned towards the Lyndhurst resident. A surveillance of revealed that she had entered jewelry stores in Lyndhurst and Hasbrouck Heights. Detective Falotico, the lead investigator, spoke to both jewelry store owners, and learned that the defendant had tried to sell jewelry that appeared to be the items stolen from the Swan Hollow address. A search warrant was executed at the woman’s home in Lyndhurst. Stolen jewelry, computer printers and a television (proceeds from a theft from New Milford) were discovered. The defendant was charged, and bail was set at $50,000, no 10 percent. She was remanded to the Bergen County Jail. Police also report the arrest of a 25-yearold Monroe, New York, man. He has been charged with two counts of burglary, two counts of theft, and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia. On April 23, police investigated a burglary at a Darlington Avenue address. A detached garage was entered and landscaping equipment was stolen. On May 4, there was another burglary reported at the same address. This time, there was forced entry into the home and power tools were stolen. During the course of the investigation, it was determined that the son of the victims may have been involved. Detective Brian Huth, who was the lead investigator, found many of the stolen items
at Cash Converters in Saddle Brook. Store employees stated that the suspect was a regular customer. On June 3, the suspect was interviewed and it was determined that he had committed both burglaries. During his arrest, a hypodermic needle and a glass pipe, commonly used for smoking crack cocaine, were found. He was remanded to the Bergen County Jail with a bail of $10,000, no 10 percent.
