Scarborough Smith III and Carol Lynn Smith of Darien, Connecticut. The bride-to-be is a 1999 graduate of Ramapo High School and received a bachelor’s degree in English from Boston College in 2003. She is presently completing her first year at Columbia University, where she is pursuing a master’s of business administration. Her fiancé is a 1999 graduate of Colgate University and is pursuing an MBA from the Stern School of Business at New York University. He is vice president of Legg Mason’s institutional services group in New York. An August 2009 wedding in Upper Saddle River is planned. The ceremony and reception were held at The Castle on the Hudson in Tarrytown, New York. The Reverend Dr. Roger Spencer officiated. The maid of honor was Erin Emerson, friend of the bride. Mark Berninger Jr., brother of the groom, was best man. Leanne Bourque, Kate Berninger, Meredith Berninger, Megan Berninger, and Sarah Berninger served as bridesmaids. Groomsmen were Scott Sindel and Michael Walker. The bride graduated from Gardner (MA) High School in 2000. She holds a bachelor of science in aviation management with flight option from Florida Institute of Technology. She also holds master’s degrees in aviation human factors and human factors engineering. She is currently employed by United Space Alliance (NASA) at the Kennedy Space Center, Cape Canaveral, Florida as a space shuttle orbiter test conductor. She is also a certified Lean Six Sigma black belt. The groom is a 2000 graduate of Midland Park High School. He graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s of science in aviation management with flight option. He is currently employed as a commercial airline pilot wit Delta Connection affiliate, Atlantic Southwest Airlines. After honeymooning in Hawaii, the couple resides in Melbourne, Florida.
