Ramsey June 24, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 11 Borough Police Department Report On June 8 at 1:47 a.m., Ramsey Police Officer Jaclyn Morris assisted the Upper Saddle River Police Department during a burglary investigation. She received a report of a stolen vehicle connected to the burglary incident. While on patrol, she observed the vehicle travel onto Route 17 North. The vehicle attempted to elude the officer, but eventually stopped. A 28-year-old Bronx, New York man was arrested for eluding police and possession of stolen property. At 4:11 a.m. on June 13, Police Officer Craig Weber observed a vehicle traveling 80 mph on Route 17 South. A motor vehicle stop was conducted. The driver had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage and admitted to drinking alcohol prior to driving. At the conclusion of field sobriety tests, a 26-year-old Paramus man was arrested for driving while intoxicated. At 3:44 p.m. the same day, Police Officer Hines conducted a motor vehicle crash investigation on Route 17 South. During the investigation, it was determined that a passenger provided false information to the officer. A warrant check and subsequent arrest revealed over $7,000 in warrants for the 28-year-old Holtsville, New York man. On June 14 at 7:26 p.m., Police Officer Jeff Guilfoyle conducted a motorcycle crash investigation on Franklin Turnpike. During the interview of the driver, a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage was detected. At the conclusion of field sobriety tests, the 41-year-old Tuxedo, New York driver was arrested. Gift for giving For his birthday for the last four years, Evan Schreiber has asked his friends to bring supermarket gift certificates to his party. He donates these items to Ramsey Responds and The Center for Food Action in Mahwah. For his tenth birthday, he raised $350 and donated it to The Center for Food Action. The Bergen Highlands Rotary Club, of which his father is a member, agreed to match the funds he raised up to $250. He then donated that money to Ramsey Responds. Evan has donated nearly $2,000 total since he started his efforts at age 7. Evan is the son of Howard and Tricia Schreiber. He is pictured with his father and with Marge Roche of Ramsey Responds.
