McMahon The Mahwah Council has adopted two ordinances that re-appropriate a total of $505,000 in unused funds to two new projects. One ordinance re-appropriates the $380,000 proceeds of water utility obligations that were originally made available through a township water utility bond ordinance. The funding, which is no longer needed for its original purpose, will be used to renovate the township’s elevated water tank near DARE to design This fifth grade student from Joyce Kilmer School won the the Dare Culmination TShirt Design Contest. The original ordinance, which was adopted on July 28, 2005 and supplemented on Feb. 22, 2007, provided for the installation of water mains in the township. The money will now be put towards the renovation and refurbishment of the outside of the Campgaw elevated water tank, which is a functional part of the township’s water system. The second ordinance re-appropriates the $125,000 proceeds of sewer utility obligations, which are no longer needed for their original purpose, in order to provide for the acquisition and installation of sewer system related telemetry equipment in the township. The original ordinance approving these funds provided for the replacement of a sewer main on Blueberry Court and it was finally adopted May 18, 2006. That project never went forward, however, and it has been put on hold according to Mahwah Township Administrator Brian Campion. The $125,000 will now be used to provide for the acquisition and installation of telemetry equipment to allow for greater efficiency within the township’s sanitary sewer system. Campion advised that this equipment will be used to allow the electronic metering of the system and will radio information back to the central office that will improve the monitoring of the township’s pumping stations in the sewer department. Campion said the township’s capital budget has been amended to reflect the provisions of these ordinances. ennials Per 6-17-09 joan/janine RamapoNurseryColor3x2(6-17-09) 3 x 2” Is your hearing keeping you in isolation?
