This family is facing real adversity. Michael turned 11 in May. He has spent an entire year dealing with a variety of problems, the most grave of which is a brain tumor. It has been a year of losses for him. He lost his sight due to brain surgery, he lost his father and his father’s support (his father moved and left no forwarding address), he lost his home because they could not afford to live there anymore, and he has lost his 4-29-09 karen/janine social network as he cannot attend school.
