Borough residents are Brian Piccolo Award recipients
Ramsey residents Lisa Sargenti and Patrick Patti were recently honored with the Brian Piccolo Award at the UNICO New Jersey District IX Brian Piccolo Awards Dinner featuring Don Piccolo as guest speaker. Don Piccolo, Brian Piccolo’s brother, was the first member of the Piccolo family to ever speak at a UNICO event. Brian Piccolo was the subject of the popular 1971 movie, “Brian’s Song.” The Brian Piccolo Memorial Award has been given to worthy high school seniors by UNICO Chapters throughout the United States since the late 1970s. The recipients are selected for their athletic achievements, drive, determination, and personal character, all attributes associated with Brian Piccolo. During his talk, Don Piccolo spoke eloquently about his brother and emphasized more than once that “each of you young people here tonight by virtue of your performance and ability to overcome adversity
