Before retiring, she was a licensed New Jersey tax assessor for Glen Rock. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church of Glen Rock. She served as church secretary and council member and participated in a number of church groups. She was a Valley Hospital volunteer at the Luckow Oncology Pavilion. She is survived by her husband Robert C. Knop, her children, Lori Herz, Susan Barile, Robert M. Knop, and Judy Knop, two grandchildren and her sisters Karin Harrison and Edna Jeffers. She is survived by her children, Carol A. Lisa of Ridgewood, Patricia Lynch Jester of Ridgewood, Eugene Lynch of Staten Island, New York, and Janet Lynch Brusco of Ridgewood, 10 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She had worked for the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus as secretary to the mayor and council, the zoning board, and the planning board. Previous to that she was a secretary for W.R. Grace Steamship Co. in New York City from 1940 to 1942, and for Jack’s Men’s Store in Ho-Ho-Kus from 1960 to 1973. She was a parishioner of Saint Luke’s RC Church in Ho-Ho-Kus and past member Jack Celentano of the Saint Luke’s Rosary Society. She was a member of the Woman’s Club of Ho-Ho-Kus and the Valley Hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her children, Margaret Anne McEvoy and Robert Paul McEvoy, two grandchildren, one great grandchild, and her siblings Donald Kennelly and Kathleen Molloy. Eugene “Hugh” Ottens of Wilmington, North Carolina, formerly of Midland Park and Ridgewood, died May 28. He was 78. Before retiring in 1978, he was a patrolman with the Ridgewood Police Department, for 27 years. After retirement, he was involved with Zabranski Plumbing Supply of Paterson, Federal Boiler of Midland Park, and was owner/ operator of his own white line driveway striping business. He was a member of Old Paramus Reformed Church in Ridgewood. He is survived by his children Eugene Ottens Jr. of Carlstadt and Sheryl Du Flocq of Midland Park. Elizabeth Zoller Spencer of Newmarket, New Hampshire, formerly of Wyckoff, died April 18. She was 97. A lifelong friend of Grace Zabriskie, she served as a trustee of the historic Zabriskie House in Wyckoff. She attended services at the Hawthorne Gospel Church. She is survived by her children John Spencer of Hillsborough, Jane DeFeo of Franklin Lakes, four grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Harold A. Spencer and her seven siblings. A memorial service will be held at the Christian Fellowship Church of God on June 28 at 1 p.m. Grace T. Strzelczyk, nee Cafiero, of Glen Rock died May 28. She was 87. Before retiring in 1986, she was employed as a crossing guard with the New York City Police Department for 20 years. She was a former parishioner of Saint Thomas Aquinas Church in Brooklyn and a parishioner of Saint Catharine R.C. Church in Glen Rock. She is survived by her husband Joseph B. Strzelczyk, her son James Strzelczyk, and eight grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son Bruce Strzelczyk and her sister Rose Ferriola. Sr. Alice Pepetua Tracey, a Sister of Charity of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station died May 26. She was 87. She was a teacher and pastoral associate at the Church of the Nativity in Midland Park from 1982 to 2004. She also served at Holy Name of Jesus School in East Orange; Saint Philip the Apostle School, Saddle Brook; Saint Paul School, Clifton, where she was also principal; Saint Mary’s Hospital, Passaic; Mother Seton Regional High School, Clark; Saint Margaret of Scotland, Morristown; and Academy of Saint Elizabeth, Convent Station.
