Page 6 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • July 29, 2009 On July 16, an 18-year-old Stony Point, New York man and two juveniles were arrested on Lambert Trail for burglary and receiving stolen property after officers were called to investigate a suspicious vehicle. The officers located the vehicle in question, the juveniles on foot and several cars that had been burglarized. The officers rounded up the individuals involved and, through investigation, determined they had burglarized the vehicles and stolen property from them. The adult male was charged and released with a pending court appearance while the juveniles will have to appear in Juvenile Court at a later date. A 22-year-old Ramsey man was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The arrest was made on Franklin Turnpike on July 17 after the officer saw the man driving his vehicle on a flat tire. The officer stopped the car and interviewed the man. After conducting field tests, the officer arrested him for DWI. He was processed and released to a friend with a pending court appearance required. On July 19, a 29-year-old Mahwah man was arrested on Franklin Turnpike for aggravated assault after officers were called to investigate a domestic dispute. The man had injured his girlfriend during an argument and was arrested after the officers noted the injuries. He was charged and subsequently transported to the Bergen County Jail to await arraignment. The same day, an 18-year-old Washington man was arrested on Route 287 South for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after the officer stopped the man for driving a vehicle that had a cracked taillight. The officer interviewed the man and located the Township of Mahwah Police Department Report drugs during a search of the vehicle. The man was charged and released with a pending court appearance required in Mahwah. On July 22, a 20-year-old Old Bridge woman was arrested at Ramapo College for trespassing after officers were called to investigate her failure to provide identification to the security force. The officer interviewed the woman and confirmed her name and birth date. She had been banned from the campus earlier and was arrested for trespassing. She is required to appear in Mahwah Municipal Court. Also on July 22, a 19-year-old Portsmouth, Rhode Island man was arrested on Route 287 South for possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after the officer stopped the man for speeding. The officer smelled burned marijuana and located the drug and paraphernalia during a search of the vehicle. The man was charged and released with a future court date in Mahwah.
