Page 8 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • February 18, 2009 Ramsey Don Bosco Prep alumni hockey players faced off against members of the New Jersey Devils Alumni Association and former NHL players recently at the Ice Vault in Wayne raising over $7,000 for the Vincent Linguanti Memorial Scholarship at Don Bosco Prep. Linguanti, a 16-year-old junior-year student at Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, died unexpectedly of an enlarged heart at his home on Aug. 28, 2006, after responding to a fire call as a volunteer fireman for the Hillcrest Fire Department in Spring Valley, New York. He was the son of Audrey and Brian Linguanti of Spring Valley. Linguanti had two special loves: playing hockey as cocaptain on the Don Bosco Prep JV hockey team and volunteering as a fireman for the Hillcrest Fire Department. This special fundraising event was organized by Bruce Driver, co-director of the New Jersey Devils Alumni Association; and Don Bosco hockey game benefits scholarship fund Members of the New Jersey Devils Alumni Hockey Team and former NHL players joined forces against Don Bosco Preps Alumni Hockey Team in a benefit game to raise funds for a special scholarship at the Ramsey-based Catholic, college prep school. Former professional hockey players who came out to play in the benefit event held at The Ice Vault in Wayne included Ken Daneyko, Sergei Starikov, Ron Duguay, Valeri Kamensky, Brian Mullen, Doug Baran, Bruce Driver, Grant Marshall, Rob Skrlac, Chris Kotsopoulos and Al Loges. Greg Toskos, a 1994 graduate of Don Bosco Prep and head coach for varsity hockey, with the assistance of the Don Bosco Prep Office of Advancement. Twenty-three Don Bosco Prep alumni took to the ice against a 10-member team of former New Jersey Devils players. More than 200 fans, alumni and family members witnessed the action- packed game as the Devils alumni defeated the Bosco alumni by a score of 10-4. The 900 young men attending Don Bosco Prep hail from over 100 towns in nine counties throughout New Jersey and New York.
