The Honorable and Mrs. James F. Brennan Sr. of Ramsey have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kelly K. Brennan, to Brian D. Davis, son of Janice McCullagh Davis and Dudley A. Davis Jr. of Brick Township. The bride-to-be is a graduate of Immaculate Heart Academy in Washington Township and she received her bachelor of arts degree in communications from Villanova University. She is currently employed by Cheil Communications as an event supervisor. Her fiancé is a graduate of Monsignor Donovan High School in Toms River and Mount Saint Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland where he received a bachelor or arts degree in political science. He is currently senior sales manager with Hilton Hotels. The engagement took place on Nov. 22, 2008 in Venice, Italy. A November 2009 wedding is planned.

Kimberly Ann Cancelosi, daughter of Maria and James Cancelosi of Mahwah, married Alistair Shearer Cooper, son of Margaret and Hugh Cooper of England on Oct. 12, 2008. The garden ceremony took place on the grounds of the Ramsey Golf and Country Club with Cara Krafchick officiating. Lauren Cancelosi, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Fiona Cooper, sister of the groom, served as bridesmaid. Friends of the bride, Karim Beledjilali and Noah Sedgwick, served as attendants. Michael Fisher and Joseph Wylie, friends of the groom, served as best men.

Birth announcements
Tracy and Kyle Bender of Ramsey have announced the birth of their daughter, Emmy Kate on May 8, 2008. She weighed seven pounds, six ounces and was 20 inches long. Emmy joins siblings Maya and Christian. Maternal grandparents are Tom and Connie Beckmann of Ramsey. Paternal grandparents are Joan Bender of Cresskill and the late Joseph Bender.
Schenks celebrate 50 years of marriage
Barbara and Joe Schenk of Mahwah recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The two were married in Saint Thomas Apostle Church in Woodhaven, New York and moved to Ramsey in 1973. The Schenks have resided in their present home in Mahwah for 24 years. They have four married children and eight grandchildren. They celebrated their anniversary by returning to Saint John, Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico, where they spent their honeymoon. They celebrated with family and friends at mass at the Church of the Presentation on Nov. 28. A reception in Woodcliff Lake followed.
Emmy Kate Bender arrives
Sergio and Annie (nee Anzalone) Sciortino have announced the birth of their daughter, Soleil Marie, on July 11 at 6:02 p.m. at The Valley Hospital. Soleil weighed 7 pounds, 14 ounces and was 21 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Chris and Debbie Anzalone of Midland Park. Paternal grandparents are Nicholas and Tonina Sciortino of Garfield.
