Annette Freund named new Chamber president
Dr. Annette S. Freund
Dr. Annette S. Freund, owner and managing director of Freund Associates Technical Communication in Mahwah, has been elected president of the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce. A resident of Mahwah for 20 years and member of the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Commerce for 10 years, she has served on the organization’s board of directors as public relations chair, Nominating Committee chair, editor of the Chamber newsletter, and senior vice
president. “My predecessors have built a large and strong organization,” said Dr. Freund. “We recently registered our 500th member. I’d like to continue this growth by offering even more services to our members, to our communities, to businesses and families relocating here, and even to tourists. “The Chamber is an integral part of the community. What builds a better business community also builds a better community. This year we will be encouraging our members to get involved in the Chamber and give back to the community.” Freund holds a doctor of arts degree in English/writing specialist from the State University of New York at Albany and has 20 years of experience in technical writing for corporations, plus 14 years of university teaching experience. In 2003, her company achieved national certification as a womanowned business through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council. Her professional memberships include the Society for Technical Communication. Freund Associates Technical Communication is a company of technical and medical writers with expertise in engineering, telecommunications, manufacturing, computer science, and life sciences. Project teams assist corporate engineering departments, telecom marketing departments, and hospital development offices – wherever technical or medical writing is required.
Scout Sunday observed
In celebration of Boy Scouts of America Week, Scouts at Ramsey’s First Presbyterian Church took part in the Worship Service as Scripture readers and ushers.
