Senior activities announced Ramsey seniors can improve general health, reduce stress, strengthen joints and build up the immune system with an eight week course in yang style, beginning Thursday, Jan. 7 at 1 p.m. Master Peng, an instructor from the Bergen Chapter of the New Jersey Tai Chi Association will teach this class. Seniors can sign up at the senior center for the onehour course. The Bocce Boys are in winter mode. Shuffle board, cards and pool are available at the American Legion Hall in Waldwick on Thursdays at 1 p.m. Anyone interested may join them there or on Tuesdays at the senior center. All Ramsey residents over the age of 60 are invited to attend. Saint John’s ready for Christmas Saint John’s Memorial Episcopal Church, located on the corner of Franklin Turnpike and East Main Street in Ramsey, will celebrate the Christmas season with special church services. “Jesus, Savior of All” will be the theme of this year’s Christmas pageant scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 20 at 4:15 p.m. at the church. Christmas Eve services include a 5 p.m. Family Eucharist Mass and 11 p.m. Festive Candlelight Eucharist Mass preceded by a carol sing at 10:30 p.m. Holy Eucharist with carols will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Christmas Day. Saint John’s Church School is offered on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. from September through June for children ages three through 14. The church also offers an active Youth Group program for teens in grades nine through 12. Baby Care is available every Sunday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. for children under three. Scouts sell trees, wreaths, sweets Ramsey Boy Scout Troop 31 is hosting a Christmas Tree Sale at the Ramsey High School tennis courts on Main Street on Dec. 19, and 20 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Free local delivery is available. Holiday festivities set The Literary Ladies of First Presbyterian Church will meet at noon on Dec. 17 for the Christmas Luncheon at the Ramsey Country Club. The topic will be any holiday story the ladies have read and wish to share. The Connections Book Group is reading “The Gift” by Pete Hamill for December. Association hosts Devils fundraiser The Ramsey Hockey Association has a limited number of tickets to the New Jersey Devils vs. Ottawa Senators game at Prudential Center on Friday Dec. 18, at
7 p.m. for sale. On the program will be a special appearance of the Ramsey Mites on Ice between the first and second periods. Tickets are $39 (regular price is $56.)
