She was an active participant in the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce as well as the local community. She is survived by her sisters, Cynthia Joy of Ho-Ho-Kus and Jo Ellen Bianchi of Mahwah, and her nieces and nephews Salena Joy Kaminski, Christopher Joy, Christina Bianchi and Jonathan Bianchi. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Before retiring he was employed by General Mills Corporation. He coached Little League for 20 years and was a Scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. Gennaro J. “Jerry” Muzzillo of Raleigh, North Carolina, formerly of Ramsey, died Aug. 5. He was 85. He was a U.S. Army Air Force veteran of WWII. He ran two businesses including Wayne Shell Station on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne. He was a resident of Ramsey Golf & Country Club and a member of Saint Paul RC Church in Ramsey. He was a volunteer with the Ramsey Volunteer Fire Company. He is survived by his five children, 11 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Lucy. One of the key figures in the development of the solid-body electric guitar, he helped transform the way sound is recorded via innovations such as multi-tracking, reverb and closemiking. He had a string of pop hits in the ‘50s. He is the only person to have been inducted into both the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the National Inventors Hall of Fame. He was also the oldest person to win a Grammy in a rock category. He is survived by his children Lester “Rus” G. Paul, Gene W. Paul, Robert Paul, and adopted daughter Colleen Wess. She had been a fashion buyer in New York City for many years. She was a member of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary and held positions on the Northwest Bergen Regional Health Commission. She is survived by her husband Maurice, her children Lisa Whitehead of Oakland and Steven Polak of Jamison, Pennsylvania, and four grandsons. Corinne Polak Eleanor Marie Rodreguez of Brooksville, Florida, formerly of Ramsey and Suffern, New York, died July 25. She is survived by her sons David and Richard Rodriguez of Brooksville, Florida and Michael and Desi Rodriguez of Knoxville, Tennessee, one granddaughter, and her brother Richard Scalione of Ridgewood. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII. He had been a chemistry and physics teacher at Hawthorne High School where he was also the head baseball coach, the principal at Glen Rock High School and principal of Gloversville High School in Gloverville, New York. He was a parishioner of Saint Anthony’s RC Church in Hawthorne, a trustee for the Glen Rock Library Association, a United Way volunteer, and a member of the Valley Hospital Auxiliary. He was a member of the New Jersey Education Association. He is survived by his children Edward P. Turco Jr. of Chatham and Madelaine A. Dion of Glen Rock, two grandchildren, and his sister Ida Decina of Brooklyn, New York. He was predeceased by his wife Beverly Turco (nee Pearson). Muzzillo Religious Notes Saint John’s Church welcomes new Rector Les Paul Reverend Julian Eibin Saint John’s Memorial Episcopal Church, located on the corner of Main Street and Franklin Turnpike in Ramsey, welcomed its new Rector, the Reverend Julian Eibin, on August 9th at the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday services. Reverend Eibin first felt the call to ordained ministry when he was only fourteen years old. His calling remained strong throughout his high school and college years. Upon completion of his graduate studies in theology at The Catholic University in Washington, Reverend Eibin was ordained as a Catholic priest and served as an associate pastor in the Archdiocese of Baltimore. He left the Catholic Church after three years of service to be married and became ordained as an Episcopal priest on May 28, 1983. In his twenty-six years as an Episcopal priest, Eibin has served congregations in Utah, Maryland, Arkansas, Pennsylvania, and Ohio. Reverend Eibin and his wife will reside at the rectory on Island Road and look forward to becoming involved in the Ramsey community.
