Ramsey August 12, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 3 Borough seeks bids for library renovation project On Aug. 18, the Borough of Ramsey will receive bids for the renovation of the Ramsey Free Public Library. The council plans to award a contract for this project at its Aug. 26 meeting. Funding will be provided by a $4,250,000 bond ordinance that was approved by the council last month. Ramsey Library Director Wendy Bloom explained that plans call for the renovation of the building’s existing 14,000 square feet. No addition to the building will be made. “We are reconfiguring for maximum efficiency,” Bloom told Villadom TIMES. “The building will be totally energy efficient. We are replacing all the windows and doors.” She added that the library’s heating and air conditioning system will also be replaced with energy efficient and space saving equipment. The renovation will make the 40-year old library building brighter and will allow for Top: Architect’s renderding of the Ramsey Library renovation plans. There will be redesigned areas for children and teens, comfortable reading spaces for adults, and room for wireless computing. Both library entrances will be reconfigured to meet at a central circulation desk. The information service desk will be near the main entrance to provide ready access to a librarian. New popular books and media will fill the open atrium of the library, while book stacks will be located along the sides of the building. A glass enclosed reading room will highlight the Wyckoff Avenue view. The program room will be updated, opening directly into the children’s area for easy access to story times and crafts. Restrooms will be expanded to meet all ADA requirements. The project will take approximately 10 months to complete. Library officials plan (continued on page 23) ward-winning decorator Susan Tenny, C.I.D., provides a complete in-home (or in-office) interior decorating service by bringing thousands of samples of drapery fabrics, shades and blinds, furniture, floor coverings, wall coverings, lighting and accessories directly to her clients. She then is able to design the room in the client’s own lighting and existing furnishings. “Working this way tends to be very comfortable for the client as they can really see what works in the room, plus it’s a huge time-saving convenience.” Susan believes that your home should be all about you; your functional needs, your personal taste and style, your culture, your loves. “We don’t charge design fees or hourly rates nor do we have ‘minimums.’ I pride myself on my ability to work within my clients’ budget, custom designing the room for function, comfort, beauty, and flow. By taking careful measurements and Susan Tenny making floor plans, we avoid expensive mistakes. We handle all the details and personally supervise all installations and deliveries. We follow up with our clients afterwards, as their complete satisfaction is of the utmost importance. “My clients are working directly with a small business owner who has the buying power of a large established company behind her,” Susan adds. “Unlike a store, we have no inventory or loyalty to a particular manufacturer. We listen to our clients and put their needs first as we make our choices from hundreds of vendors.” Susan is ready to help with any size project. “No project is too small or too big.” Call (201) 327-2207 for a complimentary 90 minute consultation.
