A group of young dancers from The Look Sharp Performing Arts Center in Ramsey recently performed at New York City’s Joyce Theater as part of Dancin’ Downtown at The Joyce, a competition for the benefit of Dancers Responding to AIDS. This journey began when Look Sharp choreographer Rosanne Renda submitted a video of “Empty Wells,” a contemporary lyrical dance piece performed by the Look Sharp Senior Dance Company. The dance was reviewed by a panel of judges, and Look Sharp was selected as one of 15 dance schools to compete in the finale. “To dance in New York City on a professional stage where so many great dancers have performed was truly an honor for our students. Our dancers we able to get a glimpse into the world of professional dance, and knowing that all the proceeds benefit AIDS patients made the experience even more magical,” said Look Sharp Executive Director Colleen Cross.
