RHS Band hosts fundraiser The Ramsey High School Marching Band and Guard Parent’s Association is selling tickets for its fundraiser. All proceeds will support the band’s activities throughout the school year. The marching band will be performing at the London New Year’s Day Parade, and the New Year’s Eve parade in Chantilly, France. The Parent’s Association is selling tickets for $20 each. First prize is forty percent of gross receipts up to $40,000, second prize six and a half percent up to $6,500, and third prize three and a half percent up to $3,500. The winners will be announced at the Marching Band Home Show held at Ramsey High School on Oct. 17. Tickets are available from any band parent or by contacting Eileen Gauthier at (201) 825-3083. Trip to US Open set The Ramsey Recreation Commission is sponsoring a trip to the morning session of the US Open on Monday, Sept. 7. The bus will leave the Ramsey High School main parking lot at 9:30 a.m. The cost of a ticket and round trip bus transportation is $65 per person. There is a limit of four tickets per person. Reservations will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. All children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult. Summer video series offered First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey is offering a weekly discussion group featuring the videos by Rob Bell, a pastor in Michigan on Aug. 5 and 12 at 7 p.m. in the Metzger Room. The videos are on biblical themes that inspire provocative, spirited discussion. Refreshments will be served. This program is for teens and adults. Summer schedule at Redeemer The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey is now on its summer schedule, with one service of Holy Communion at 9:15 a.m. A time for refreshments and conversation follows in the Fellowship Room.
