April 8, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES IV • Page 17 Religious Notes Holy Cross announces services Holy Cross Lutheran Church will continue Holy Week with a Maundy Thursday service on April 9 at 7:30 p.m. At the end of the service, the church is laid bare waiting for the Good Friday reflection on April 10 at 7:30 p.m. Saturday is a day of fun for the children as the Sunday School of Holy Cross sponsors an Easter Egg Breakfast with the Easter Bunny in Fellowship Hall beginning at 9 a.m. followed by a puppet show at 9:45 a.m. and then an Easter Egg Hunt on the grounds of the church at 10 a.m. Tickets for the breakfast will be $10 for a family of four and $5 for each extra ticket. Call the church office for tickets. On Easter Sunday, Holy Cross has an Easter Sunrise Service at 7 a.m. followed by Easter breakfast for everyone at 8:30 a.m. The Easter Traditional Lutheran Resurrection Service starts at 10:15 a.m. with special music and Holy Communion. The church is barrier-free. Redeemer celebrates the resurrection The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey will celebrate Easter Sunday with three special services on April 12. The Resurrection of Christ is first proclaimed at the sunrise service at 6 a.m. at Redeemer Cemetery on Chapel Road in Mahwah. The sunrise service includes readings, hymns, a sermon, and prayers remembering all who have entered the heavenly kingdom in the 12 months since Easter 2008. All are invited to the outdoor service, and the continental breakfast that will follow. Festival Services of Holy Communion will be celebrated at 8:30 and at 10:30 a.m. at Redeemer Church. Each worship service will feature the lessons, a sermon and a children’s sermon, and special music with the Redeemer Adult Choir, trumpet and organ played by Director of Music Guy Dobson. Childcare is available at both services. All are invited to attend, and the church building is barrier free. The church is located at 55 Wyckoff Avenue in Ramsey. First Presbyterian offers meditative labyrinth First Presbyterian Church of Ramsey will be presenting a Meditative Labyrinth on Good Friday, April 10 from noon on in undercroft of the Historic Memorial Chapel. Audio meditations will be available. Entrance to the meditative labyrinth will be open to the public from noon until 7:15 p.m., and again from the end of the Tenebrae service as long as pilgrims wish to participate. Walking the labyrinth can take anywhere from 15 minutes to as long as any individual wishes to spend in quiet reflection. The audio guide is approximately 30 minutes in length. The chapel will be open for prayer and meditation beginning at noon. The church is located at 15 Shuart Lane and welcomes all to participate in the labyrinth.
