With an increase in membership, it’s 9-23-09 Ester/Janine clear that joining a chamber of comWaldwickDayBanner merce is “recession-proof” and can only 6 x .75 help your business. Now, more than ever, small and large businesses must join forces to support one another in an effort to grow even stronger. Waldwick Day, our Chamber’s biggest event of the season, is right around the corner (Sept. 27). This celebration allows business owners to meet the local community in a beautiful park setting. This year, there will be attractions, entertainment, a pie eating contest, live music, mini chair massages, and even a Ducky Derby. There will also be an assortment of sweet and savory delights for all to enjoy. This past spring, we had an extremely successful 5K Run that allowed the Chamber to donate funds to four local organizations. We will be gearing up again this year for our Third Annual 5K Run/1 Mile Walk on Sunday, April 25, so mark your calendar. The Waldwick Chamber of Commerce continues to be the backbone of the community, because when businesses are strong, the community as a whole will be strong. If you, or anyone you know, would like to join our organization, contact us at www.waldwickchamber.com. We meet the third Wednesday of every month at The Energy Zone located in the Superdome Sports facility on Hopper Avenue. Hope to see you soon! La Vie Street • Waldwick 10 W.email: lavienrose@optonline.net Prospect n September of 2000, Richard and Carla Sica set out to create a family-owned and operated Physical Therapy clinic. The goal was a simple one, to 9-23-09----WaldCofCBoardMembers provide the kind of care and service 3col x 5” for everyone that they would for their Ester family. Without any own for PROOF... from Janine affiliations with doctors or hospitals, Richard and Carla started Achieve Sports Medicine and Sang, Carla, Rich and Christian Rehab. The mission statement was simple, “Put the needs of the patient first and foremost and success will follow.” Nine years later, in a very different climate for healthcare providers, the philosophy of Achieve has not changed. With the focus of healthcare becoming less about the patient and more about the bottom line, Achieve has managed to keep the family attitude and patient-centered approach that has allowed them to meet the Waldwick area’s physical therapy needs for almost a decade now. “ We were always an underdog”, states co-owner Richard Sica, “ all we could offer was quality care. We felt that if we did things the right way and provided the kind of service that we would want for ourselves, people would come and through word of mouth we would succeed.” Achieve also boasts of a very experienced and caring staff that has become part of the family atmosphere. Sang Lee, has been part of the Achieve family since 2001 and has been practicing Physical Therapy for over a decade. Recent addition Christian Atexide, DPT has known the Sicas for 15 years and been practicing for more than 18 in a variety of outpatient settings. In March of 2006, Richard and Carla joined with long-time friend and associate Debbie Dieter-Barker in opening a second facility, Achieve TruCare Physical Therapy in Wyckoff. The same values of patient first in a friendly, family environment are practiced there. Achieve Sportsmedicine & Rehab is located at 168 Franklin Turnpike. The staff will work with you and your insurance company to get patients the therapy they need. Call (201) 493-7440 with any questions.
