Robert P. Gibbons of Mahwah, formerly of Tenaﬂy, died Aug. 20. He was 75. He is survived by his wife Mary Jane, his children Laura Ann and Robert John, three grandchildren, and his brother Thomas of Tamarac, Florida. Arrangements were made by C.C. Van Emburgh, Inc. Funeral Home in Ridgewood. William F. Hickey of Ramsey died Aug. 25. He was 87. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Before retirement, he had worked for Sears in Maywood in warehouse maintenance. He was a member of the VFW Post 682 in Ramsey. He was a parishioner of Saint Paul R.C. Church in Ramsey and a member of the Leisure Club of Ramsey. He is survived by his wife Gertrude A. Hickey (nee Scott), his daughters, Linda Bakonyi of Montgomery, New York, Celeste Schyling of Ramsey, Rita Galligan of Mahwah and Donna Merritt of Florida, New York, 12 grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. He was 76. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Before retiring, he was a hospital administrator at Staten Island University Hospital. He had been the owner of Sceery Gruber Florist in Paterson for many years. He was past president of the Paterson Rotary Club, past master of Humboldt Lodge #114, Paterson, a member of the Chambers of Commerce in Paterson, Burlington County, and Staten Island. He was regional vice president for the National Association of Hospital Development. He was the ﬁrst recipient of the AbioCor Artiﬁcial Heart in New Jersey. He is survived by his wife Lillian (nee Jacobs), his children, Gary Joachim of Wyckoff, Greg Joachim of New Providence, and Cindy Hoyt of Jackson, seven grandchildren, and his brother William Joachim. Jasper “Opa” Kersbergen of Ridgewood and Wolfeboro, New Hampshire, died Aug. 16. He was 89. Before retiring in 1983, he was employed by Mobil Oil Corporation. He Raymond A. Basile Robert P. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Vietnam War. He was commander of the VFW Lodge in Waldwick and a member of the American Legion in Waldwick. He is survived by his wife Pamela (nee Fulton), his children Kindra of Clifton, Kevin of Bloomingdale, and Heather of Los Angeles, California, a grandson, his mother Mae Miller of Port Saint Lucie, Florida, and sisters Linda Emmert, Susan Miller and Amy Testa. Miller Jr. counselor at CURA in Newark. Previously, she had been a pharmacist and owner/operator of Farmacia Sorrentino in Argentina. After retiring she was an event planner. She is survived by her husband Anthony Salierno of Franklin Lakes, her children Laura Favetto of Toms River, Claudia Navarro of Franklin Lakes, and Genaro Slierno of Verona, and nine grandchildren.
