She served on the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education, was a member of Saint Bartholomew’s Church, and was active in the local hospital auxiliary, College Club, and visiting nurse service. She is survived by her children Charles H. Bergmann Jr. of Falmouth, Massachusetts, John R. Bergmann of Tahoe Vista, California, Nancy J. Killough of Dallas, Texas, and Janet A. Birch of Putney, Vermont, four grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband Charles H. Bergmann, her parents, and three siblings. James A. Colburn Jr. of Morris Plains, formerly of Allendale, died Oct. 20. He was 53. He was a graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School in Allendale. He is survived by his sister Candice Goudreau of Rochester, New York, his companion Terry Schatz of Dumont, and his stepmother Patricia Colburn of Sturbridge, Massachusetts. Ficke of Pompton Plains, formerly of Saddle River, died Oct. 20. He was 95. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. Before retiring he was the owner of Carl H. Ficke & Associates in Rutherford. He was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and the P.M. Rotary Club, both in Ridgewood. She was 92. She taught fourth grade at Edith A. Bogert School in Upper Saddle River for 19 years and was a member of the Saddle River Reformed Church in Upper Saddle River. She was a member of the Saddle River Valley Senior Fellowship Club, and a lifetime member of DAR. She is survived by her children Brian Hamilton and Lynn Snider, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband Hugh A. Hamilton. She taught kindergarten before serving as a substitute teacher in the Waldwick school system for over 30 years. After retiring, she was active in IGLOO, the Intergenerational Literacy Opportunity Organization. She was a member of the Highlands Presbyterian Church in Allendale. She sang in the choir for 35 years and was an elder. She recently joined a chimes choir. She was active in Girl Scouts since 1956 and a recent member of the Bergen Council’s Chapter of the Evergreen program. She is survived by her husband Earl Scott Lemmon, her daughters Linda Durham of Shaker Heights, Ohio, Gail Lloyd of Newark, Delaware, Roberta Phelps of Shaker Heights, Ohio and Janet McGovern of Brookfield, Connecticut, 11 grandchildren, four great grandchildren and her sister, Louise Barr of Ithaca, New York.
