Can You Help?
News from Northern Region of the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation: Our hat’s off to the Church of the Redeemer in Ramsey and the Wyckoff Senior Citizens for their recent food collections. We thank Legend’s Steakhouse of Midland Park for hosting the Golf Outing for the benefit of the Emmanuel Cancer Foundation. The following people sponsored the event: Shamrock Construction, Northeast Remsco Construction, Beer Rainey Taps, Yankee Linen, Classic Provisions, Roth, Toscano & Amato, Peter’s Fish Market, Kohler, Northern Eagle, Glen Lacy, Hatch Mott MacDonald, Off the Hook, Villadom TIMES, Bert Posses, Cedar Hill Construction, 115 River Road, LLC., and Fred A. Daibes. Volunteers are needed at our local office at the follow4-29-09 karen/janine p.m.; Tuesday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; ing times: Monday, 1 to 5 Thursday, 2:30 to 5 p.m.; and Friday EmmanuelHelp2x.75(4-29-09)1 to 5 p.m. This year, we are asking the community, including 3 x .75 houses of worship, and places of work, to consider schools, becoming involved with us at a greater level. Whether you currently help us or never have helped us in any way, we invite you to get involved at this critical time. Many nonprofit organizations such as ours have experienced a significant drop in financial and material contributions. Involvement can take many forms, but doesn’t have to take a lot of time. For example, businesses can host a fundraiser such as a “Dress Down Day, when employees make a donation to wear casual clothes,” host a Golf Outing, or contribute a certain percentage of profits for one day. Schools can collect non-perishable food items, or raise funds for ECF by hosting a “Pajama Day” or “Hat Day,” (continued on page 12)
