Allendale October 7, 2009 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • Page 3 Board president resigns; district seeks successor by Jennifer Crusco Peter Terenzio, an 11-year veteran of the Ho-Ho-Kus Board of Education, and the board’s current president, has resigned from his post effective Oct. 7. Terenzio said he has been offered a business opportunity with a major energy company located in Houston, Texas, and will be relocating. “It’s bittersweet,” Terenzio told Villadom TIMES last week. “I love the community, and I love the school. I’m proud of what has been accomplished over the last 11 years. “We have a great district, and I have worked with two wonderful superintendents, Loretta (Bellina) and Deborah (Ferrara), and fantastic board members and staff. It has been an honor to serve the community.” Terenzio, a human relations professional, was elected to his fourth term on the school board in April 2008. He has served eight years as the board’s president. He was raised in Tenafly, and moved to Ho-Ho-Kus in 1994. He attended Lehigh University and has served as a US Army officer. His community involvement has included service as recreation commissioner, a youth sports coach, and a lector at Saint Luke’s Church. The board is seeking candidates who are interested in succeeding Terenzio. In order to be eligible for the seat, an individual must be a U.S. citizen and resident of Ho-Ho-Kus for at least one year. Eligible persons must also be able to read and write English, be registered to vote in Ho-Ho-Kus, and not have been disqualified as a voter. The board plans to interview interested candidates in open public session on Oct. 20.
