Students who need to satisfy a requirement for community service hours are invited to help the Waldwick Lions Club during its Christmas Tree Sale. The sale is scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 4-6, but help will also be needed setting up the display on Thursday, Dec. 3. Students can gain service hours at Lions Club’s Christmas Tree Sale
Street. The tree sale will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. until all trees are sold. All balsam and fir trees, 7 to 8 ft. high, are $39 each. The Waldwick Lions Club is holding its annual Children’s Holiday Party on Sunday, Dec. 13 from noon until 2:30 p.m. Children will get photos with Santa and gifts.

Tree and Menorah Lighting planned
The Waldwick Girl Scouts will host the Annual Holiday Tree and Menorah Lighting ceremony on Friday, Dec. 4 at 7 p.m. on the lawn of the Waldwick Library, 19 East Prospect Street. All families are welcomed to join in the festivities for holiday caroling. Santa will be there to help turn on the lights. Following the ceremony, refreshments will be provided by the Waldwick Fire Department at Co. #1 Firehouse. The Girl Scouts are also conducting a Holiday Food Drive and ask participants to bring non-perishable foods. Donations may be placed in boxes that will be located at the firehouse during the event.
