The doors will open at 12:30 p.m. Homemade desserts will be served with coffee and tea. Prizes will be available. The cost is $15, and the proceeds will be sent to local charities. Call (201) 445-6324 for information. Library board to meet The Worth Pinkham Memorial Library Board of Trustees will meet on Monday, Nov. 16. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the library located at 91 Warren Avenue in Ho-Ho-Kus. Church sponsors Thanksgiving Food Drive Saint Bartholomew’s Church at 70 Sheridan Avenue, Ho-Ho-Kus is collecting food for Thanksgiving dinners for the Ramapough Mountain Indians in Mahwah and other families in need. Donations of canned and dried foods, tea, coffee, vegetables, and turkeys are needed. The donations, marked Harvest Sunday, may be left in the church’s front hallway before Nov. 14. Speaker to discuss English garden elements The Ho-Ho-Kus Garden Club will meet Nov. 16 at 7:30 p.m. in the second floor meeting room of the Ho-Ho-Kus Borough Hall, 333 Warren Avenue. VFW seeks memorabilia Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 192 in Ho-Ho-Kus is seeking photos, newspaper clippings, post cards, maps, aerial photos, and similar items featuring Ho-Ho-Kus and the immediate area, including the Hopper-Zabriskie Cemetery on First Street in Ho-Ho-Kus, prior to 1966. Holiday Bazaar coming up The Community Church of Ho-Ho-Kus will host its eighth annual Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church at 400 Warren Avenue. The bazaar will feature traditional holiday favorite gifts for Thanksgiving and Christmas, including handmade crafts, baked goods, gift baskets, and double balsam holiday wreaths from Maine. There will be a bookstall, café, and the pop the balloon game for children and live music. Orders may be placed for poinsettias, cheesecakes, and pies. Locally themed items such as the Ho-Ho-Kusopoly game and T-shirts will be for sale. A number of non-profit organizations will be represented, including the Friends of the Hermitage and Read Now! Box Tops for Education drive underway The Home and School Association will be collecting Box Tops for Education Labels throughout the 200910 school year. The community is asked to save the labels on purchases and bring them to the collection box located in borough hall. Each label is worth 10 cents to the school. Borough hall changes hours of operation Ho-Ho-Kus Borough Hall hours of operation have been changed to 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. (Hours were previously 8:30 to 5.) The change will eliminate the need for shift changes of borough hall employees and will cut down on energy use. The change will not affect the standard 35-hour work week for borough hall employees.
