Holiday Boutique returns The Friends of the Upper Saddle River Library’s Holiday Boutique will continue now through Dec. 31. The library is located at 245 Lake Street. Lions Club recycles eyeglasses For more than 60 years, Lions clubs have been collecting used eyeglasses for recycling. Donated glasses are either given to support local eyeglass recycling efforts or shipped to one of seven official Lions Eyeglass Recycling Centers. The Saddle River Valley Lions Club has placed “eyeglass collection boxes” through the club area. Gold and purple boxes with the Lions logo can be found at the following locations: Mahwah: Bank New Media Center at USR Library The Friends of the Upper Saddle River (USR) Library and the USR Woman’s club, in remembrance of Bette Jane D’Amore, have generously donated the funds to install a media center in the Library’s Powers room. The media center includes a large screen, projector, Blu-ray DVD player, wireless microphone and surround sound. This is the latest equipment that will allow the library to grow in the future. We’ve already planned film programs, gaming and speaker presentations. This equipment can be used by groups meeting here but advanced training will be necessary.
