Page 4 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • November 4, 2009 Allendale School business administrator tenders resignation Renee Taveniere, who has served as business administrator for Allendale’s K-8 school district for five years, has resigned to accept a post with the Manchester regional school district in Haledon. Taveniere, who will be leaving Allendale on Dec. 15, is well regarded by her peers. “Our loss is certainly Manchester regional school district’s gain,” said Dr. Jerilyn M. Caprio, superintendent of Allendale’s K-8 school district. “It is with deep regret that the board of education has accepted the resignation of Renee Taveniere. She is a most competent business administrator. Her expertise in budget development and business office management will make it very difficult to replace her. As a CPA, her attention to detail is extraordinary.” Dr. Caprio cited Taveniere’s diverse background, which includes experience in the business world and in education. These experiences, Caprio said, provide the business administrator “with an experiential level not matched by many” in her field. “Renee is making a career move which is exciting for her as she will include a high school in her repertoire as a business administrator of Manchester Regional, as well as taking on the District of Haledon, which is an elementary sending district,” the superintendent continued. “This will be a new experience and one that will be so beneficial to Renee’s career. It is with ambivalent feelings that her resignation was put on the Oct. 27 board meeting agenda. This is a tremendous loss for Allendale, but she is embarking on new opportunities that are going to be important an exciting for her. We wish her well and want her to know we will miss her very much. Renee will leave a void that will be hard to fill.” Manchester Regional High School also serves the sending districts of Prospect Park and North Haledon. Residents invited to budget workshop Helpful Hints Helpful Hints from ome “To avoid freezing, be sure to turn off and drain water supply lines to outdoor faucets, especially those that run through unheated garages and crawl spaces.” Allendale residents are invited to attend the K-8 board of education’s budget workshop, which will be held Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. in the Brookside School library. This workshop will include information about the school budget process presented by Paul Breda, field services representative for the New Jersey School Boards Association. In addition, Allendale School Business Administrator Renee Taveniere will present “A Budget in a Nutshell.” A question and answer session will follow these presentations, and members of the community will have an opportunity to address the school board regarding items they consider budgetary priorities. “We would be most appreciative if you would join us,” said Allendale K-8 Superintendent Dr. Jerilyn Caprio. “Please invite your neighbors as well so that everyone can learn about the Allendale K-8 district’s budget planning. All are welcome. The budget process will be the only item on the agenda for the evening.” Billy Says...
