This event will feature over 30 vendors selling handcrafted items, jewelry, photography, handbags, makeup, custom embroidery, candles, and accessories. In addition, American Gold and Diamond Buyers will be in attendance paying cash for gold. There will also be a basket fundraiser with over 20 baskets and gift cards available as prizes. Holmberg to discuss nutrition Susan Holmberg, MS, CNS will present “But My Kids are Thin” at Young World Day School on Thursday, Nov. 19 at 7:30 p.m. Holmberg will discuss what children should eat to enhance concentration, increase immunity, prevent disease, and lessen mood swings. Board of health to meet The Mahwah Board of Health will meet on Tuesday, Nov. 10 at 7:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the Mahwah Municipal Building, 475 Corporate Drive. Pasta Buffet planned The Ramapo Reformed Church, 100 Island Road, is hosting a Pasta Buffet on Saturday, Nov. 14 from 5 to 8 p.m. Dinner will include choice of pasta with three types of sauce, salad, dessert, and a beverage. Movie series features Broadway’ The Mahwah Public Library will continue showing movies on Thursday afternoons at 1:30 p.m. on the 10’ x 18’ screen in the Winter Room. The library now has a high resolution digital projector and sound system. Films for November feature movie versions of Broadway musicals. On Nov. 5, sees “Mamma Mia.” “Bye Bye Birdie will be shown on Nov. 12, and “South Pacific” on Nov. 19. These films are free. The library will provide popcorn and drinks. No tickets are necessary. The library is located at 100 Ridge Road. Call (201) 529-READ. Library announces early closing The Mahwah Public Library, 100 Ridge Road, will close at 5 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 11 for Veterans Day. Election Day Pasta Buffet set An Election Day Pasta Buffet will be hosted by Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 125 Glasgow Terrace, Mahwah on Nov 3 from 5 to 7 p.m. This buffet style dinner will include two pastas, meatballs, salad, and dessert. Proceeds will go to support the church’s outreach activities. Bereavement support group forms A seven-week bereavement support group will be forming on Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception in Mahwah. Pizza, Pasta & Pastry Dinner set Immaculate Conception Church, 900 Darlington Avenue, Mahwah, will hold its Fourth Annual Pizza, Pasta and Pastry Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 14, at 6:30 p.m. at the church gym. Dinner will be catered by Mahwah Pizza & Pasta. The menu will include several pasta courses, pizza, salad, bread, beverages, and assorted desserts. New York museums trip offered The Mahwah Senior Center is hosting a trip to the Lower East Side Tenement Museum and the Merchant’s House Museum on Tuesday, Nov. 10. Departure will be at 10 a.m. from the senior center’s lower parking lot. The cost for the outing is $50 and includes deluxe motor coach transportation, guided tours of the Lower East Side Tenement Museum and the Merchant’s House and Museum, and lunch at Katz’s Delicatessen. Payment is due at sign up. Please note: The tour takes place on the second floor of the museum. Participants will be required to climb two flights of stairs as there is no elevator. Seasonal clothes for infants, children, and adults are currently in stock. For a referral, call the Mahwah Township Department of Human Services at (201) 529- 5757. Participants need not be Mahwah residents. An appointment will be made with volunteers of the Clothing Closet. The Clothing Closet is located at the rear of the Ramapo Reformed Church’s education building, located at the corner of Island Road and West Ramapo Avenue in Mahwah.
