Borough accepts announcement board from VFW
The Ho-Ho-Kus VFW recently donated an announcement board to the Borough of Ho-HoKus. A dedication ceremony took place last week. In his comments, VFW Post Commander Stanley Kober said, ‘On behalf of the veterans in the Washington Elm VFW Post 192, we thank you for allowing us to donate this announcement board to the borough and be a part of a piece of tradition that dates back more than 100 years to a time even before our borough’s name was Orvil. As historical documents denote, there were four such bulletin boards placed at various locations in the borough in those early days and this is the only location to have
survived. It gives the veterans of VFW Post 192 great pleasure to continue this piece of the borough’s tradition and provide this announcement board in commemoration of the 100th year of our incorporation in 2008 as the Borough of Ho-Ho-Kus.’ Pictured above left: Ho-HoKus Mayor Thomas Randall (far left) shakes hands with Commander Kober as Ho-Ho-Kus Borough Administrator Don Cirulli looks on.
