Page 16 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • May 20, 2009 Franklin Lakes Car Show & Flea Market VCAA holds 2009 officer installation and banquet by Lou Faiella The Jersey Lakeland Region VCCA held its annual Installation Banquet at the Brownstone earlier this year. Pat Urciuoli has always said this dance is a small payback to our wives for putting up with us and our cars the rest of the year. The weather was in our favor (a snow date was not needed) and it was a banner year for attendance, with over 60 members and guests filling the room. We were back upstairs in the cozier room yet with ample space for the DJ, dancing, and ceremonies. Mike Cassiello (and company) adorned the tables with bud vases filled with miniature red and pink carnations, a gift from the club for each lady in attendance. As always the Brownstone provided a delicious buffet of the excellent entrée choices made by the committee along with the usual complement of salads, fruits, and breads. The committee always tries to select dishes that are diversified and would appeal to all. After dinner Chuck Lippmann took center stage to present the 2009 officers: Chuck Lippmann, director and assistant director (until a replacement can be found); Ron Marciano, treasurer; Lou Faiella, secretary; and Ron Panicucci, editor of the award winning “Bow Tie Bulletin.” Gale Peterson was recognized as the out-going assistant director. The traditional initiation dance to the song “YMCA” was incorporated later on the dance floor. Lippmann also recognized the following club members for their many years with the organization: Pete Gillen, 35 years; Don Stackhouse and Joe Stevens, 20 years each; and Steve Wien, Robert Wolf, Warren Besthore, and Steve Kuropchak, 10 years each. Scenes from this year’s officer installation and banquet. Mike Cassiello presided over the distribution of the many wonderful door prizes. Even though we missed last year’s very spirited DJ team known as “The Two Rons,” slowly the dance floor filled and the room rocked until the last song was played. Many thanks to Mike Cassiello and Ron Panicucci for their planning and execution of another very successful gala. Advertise in the YOUR COMMUNITY NEWSPAPER 201-652-0744
