Allendale Notebook Committee seeks pledges for park The Orchard Common Park Citizens Advisory Committee has begun its 2009 campaign to complete Phase II of the park. Between now and the park’s grand opening on June 14, the committee hopes to secure pledges for the final $210,000 needed to complete this project. More than $4 million has already been secured to acquire the property and reclaim the park. The first phase of improvements was completed last winter. The next phase, scheduled for completion in June, will dramatically enhance the landscaping, add an irrigation system and seating, and other commemorative features. The Citizens Advisory Committee is seeking donations or pledges from residents, businesses, and friends who would like to help preserve a signature element of the community. Sponsorship opportunities include brick pavers, seating, gardens, trees, a commemorative circle, and river birch grove. Sponsors have until Dec. 31, 2011 to fulfill their pledges.
