Page 14 THE VILLADOM TIMES III • May 6, 2009 It was a beautiful but very hot day, as 377 sports enthusiasts - 250 runners and 127 walkers – participated in the Waldwick Chamber of Commerce’s Second Annual 5K Run/1 Mile Walk on April 26, chaired by avid runner and Waldwick resident Stan Kowalski. “Everyone who helped out at the event did a great job. It says a lot about the Community of Waldwick,” said Kowalski, who saw his initial goal of 300 well surpassed. “It was simply amazing to receive the support from our members and community. We truly have assembled the most wonderful group of individuals- all of them stepped up to assist any way they could. It is due to their support and dedication that this organization has grown so strong. All Waldwick businesses who are members of the Chamber of Commerce and residents who support them should feel proud to be a part of this wonderful community,” said chamber President Christine Figliuolo. “With the support of the Mayor and Council, Police Department, DPW, BOE, COC members, sponsors and the many volunteers who came out - a heartfelt thank you for a job well done,” she added. “My biggest, proudest moment of the event was at the start line, watching them all run down W. Prospect Street; it was amazing. All of our hard work was worth every minute for that moment,” said Kim Post, the chamber’s executive secretary, who handled the logistics.
