Spring Craft, Storytime offered The Allendale Newcomers Club’s Not for Kids Only program will feature a special Spring Craft and Storytime at the Allendale Library on Friday March 27 at 2:30 p.m. Children ages two through six, accompanied by an adult, are invited to register for this free event. Men’s Night Out announced The Allendale Newcomers’ Men’s Night Out Dinner will be held Thursday, March 19 to coincide with the first round of the 2009 NCAA Men’s College Basketball Tournament. The dinner will take place at 7 p.m. in the third floor party room at the Allendale Bar and Grill. The price of admission for this all-youcan-eat event is $25 per person. Interfaith Lenten study at Archer Archer United Methodist Church is hosting a weekly Interfaith Study open to all who would like to learn about different faiths. All sessions are held on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in the lounge. On March 17, Rabbi Selig Saltzman will speak; on March 24, hear Sheryl Edsall discuss Buddhism; and on March 31, Dr. Nadar will discuss Islam. Progressive Dinner coming up The Newcomers will hold a Town-wide Progressive Dinner Party on Saturday, March 28. Join neighbors and friends for this evening social, which includes cocktails and hors d’ouevres with the whole group, then scale down and travel to an intimate dinner party to get to know fellow dinner partners. Afterward, the entire group will meet up again for dessert. The cost is $100 per couple; payment is due by March 20. Spring Book Sale set The Friends of the Lee Memorial Library will host a Spring Book Sale on March 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Works of fiction and nonfiction, current best-sellers, children’s books, tapes, and videos may be purchased at bargain prices of 25 cents to $1. The library is located at 500 West Crescent Avenue in Allendale. Scholarship applications available Applications for The Herbert A. Cohen Sports Association Scholarship Award are now available. The award, from the Northern Highlands High School Sports Association, is granted annually to two male and two female student athletes. To be eligible, a student athlete must have lettered twice in his or her high school career (at least once as a senior), must have attained a GPA of 3.0 or higher, and have committed to attend an accredited two- or four-year college.
